Outstanding Surgical Care for Your Pet

Your pet will have an IV catheter placed so that fluids can be given during the procedure, and we will give an injection before the general anesthetic to calm any anxiety your pet might feel. While under anesthesia, your pet is kept warm and, using the most current technology, your pet’s vital signs are monitored continually. Trained veterinary technicians use electronic devices to observe and record blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen level, and body temperature.

We provide complete pain management to make your pet as comfortable as possible before, during, and after the surgery. After your pet goes home, we will call you to check on his or her progress and to make sure everything is going well. If there are problems that require resolution, you can be sure that everyone at Mountain View will take the extra steps necessary to make sure your pet is recovering well.

Because we must avoid unnecessary risks, we take precautions to minimize any foreseeable complications. Every pet scheduled for surgery is given pre-anesthetic blood tests to check for abnormalities. If we have concerns with the results of these diagnostic tests, or your pet’s health indicates it, we may need to reschedule for another day. Routine surgeries may also be postponed if we have an emergency case.
